The Alvar Aalto Route had many reasons to celebrate at the 2025 Advisory Forum of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe!
The recertification ceremony marked the successful completion of the process to renew its status as a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe. The Alvar Aalto Route is happy and proud to be part of this unique European programme.
Adding to the celebrations, the Alvar Aalto Route was honoured with an Inspiring Practice Award in the category of Cultural Tourism and Sustainable Development. The award recognises the route’s dedicated work during the Strength from Sustainability – Alvar Aalto Route as a Pioneer of Sustainable Cultural Tourism project, which has strengthened cooperation, visibility, and sustainable practices across Aalto destinations. The Alvar Aalto Route warmly thanks all its members, partners and collaborators for their continuous commitment to promoting sustainable cultural tourism and sharing Alvar Aalto’s architectural and design heritage with the world.
The 2025 Advisory Forum was organised 22 – 24 October by the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and the European Institute of Cultural Routes, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye and the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency. The theme of this year’s forum was “Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and Landscapes: Advancing Heritage Protection through Cultural and Sustainable Tourism.” The magical landscape of Cappadocia offered an unforgettable setting for the event, which was full of ideas and inspiration with friends and colleagues from all over Europe. Thank you to the organisers and all the others involved.
