The 13th Training Academy of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe took place in Pécs, Hungary, and Osijek, Croatia, from 2–5 June, bringing together over 100 participants from 24 countries and 30 Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.
The Alvar Aalto Route was pleased to take part in this inspiring event, centred on the theme “Shaping Confidence and Diversity.” Through interactive discussions, workshops and participant-led sessions, attendees exchanged best practices and explored the future development of the Cultural Routes Programme, including youth engagement, the consequences of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine, responsible tourism, accessibility, cooperation and the upcoming 40th anniversary of the Programme.
Beyond the working sessions, participants also discovered the rich cultural heritage of Pécs and Osijek through guided visits and networking opportunities. Warmest thank you to the organisers of this fruitful event: European Institute of Cultural Routes, Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme, Roman Emperors and Danube Wine Route, Zsolnay Heritage Management Nonprofit LTD in Hungary and the Tourism Board of Osijek-Baranja County in Croatia.
