September 2025 brings with it a celebration of our built heritage. Across Finland and abroad, the architectural sites along the Alvar Aalto Route will host open doors, guided tours, exhibitions, and family activities as part of the European Heritage Days – the largest cultural event series in Europe.
The 2025 theme, Architectural Heritage, invites us to reflect on which buildings and environments we wish to preserve for future generations. The sites along the Alvar Aalto Route vividly illustrate how architecture can be part of the landscape, the community, and everyday life – a human scale and beauty that touches the heart.
