Sunila Kantola welcomes visitors to spend the summer in Alvar Aalto’s renowned industrial community. Throughout the season, several exhibitions offer perspectives on Sunila’s history, industrial heritage and contemporary art.
The main exhibition of summer 2026 is TAidetta ja TEhdasta, a joint exhibition by Hannu Oksanen and Rurik Wasastjerna. Kantola also hosts Eric Polloc’s photography exhibition, presenting the first decades of the Sunila pulp mill and the story of mill director Lauri Kanto.
The exhibitions are open during Kantola’s summer opening hours and will remain on display at least until the Aalto Homes weekend.
During the summer, visitors can also join guided public tours introducing Sunila’s architecture, history and distinctive industrial community. Tours take place every Wednesday at 5.00 pm. During week 30, the tour will exceptionally be held on Thursday 23 July at 5.00 pm.
Please note that the guided tours are conducted in Finnish.
