Cultural Routes Training Academy Highlighted the Importance of Cooperation and Sustainability

The 12th Training Academy of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe was held 11-13 June 2025 in Torres Vedras, Portugal. The event was organised by European Institute of Cultural Routes, Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme and two COE Cultural Routes; Destination Napoleon and Iter Vitis Route in cooperation with Torres Vedras, Arruda dos Vinhos and Vila Franca de Xira. The days were filled with inspiring discussions, panels, workshops and cooperation, which was the theme of the event. Almost 100 representatives of certified Cultural Routes attended the event. Good practices were shared about European projects and particular attention was paid to sustainable cultural tourism. Alvar Aalto Route was represented by Executive Director Maija Oinonen from Cultural Route on Aalto’s Architecture and Design Heritage Association.
