The Training Academy 2024 for the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe was held in Brindisi, Italy 4-7 June 2024. Representatives of the routes from 22 countries were gathered to work together and exchange ideas and good practices. The theme of the event was European cooperation and sustainable development, including cultural tourism. Interesting speeches inspired lively discussions and it was a pleasure to see the enthusiasm and motivation to achieve common European goals. The Manager of Alvar Aalto Route Maija Oinonen had an honour to join the tourism panel discussion and to share experiences of cultural tourism along Alvar Aalto Route. The unique Apulia region with its gastronomy and cultural heritage offered a beautiful setting for the event. The Training Academy was organized by European Institute of Cultural Routes, Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme and European Association of the Via Francigena with the support of the Apulia region and the city of Brindisi, and in cooperation with the association “Brindisi e le Antiche Strade”.
