The Sacred Spaces exhibition at the Nelimarkka Museum invites you to explore the unique contribution of Alvar, Aino, and Elissa Aalto to church architecture. The exhibition showcases both realized and unrealized visions of churches and sacred spaces designed by the Aaltos over five decades.

The 3D drawings featured in the exhibition, created by students from McEwen School of Architecture, combine the Aaltos’ original designs with all available research material. This allows visitors to delve deeply into their design philosophy and architectural vision.

The Sacred Spaces Exhibition offers a new perspective on the Aaltos’ architectural legacy. Come and be inspired by their unique approach, blending community and continuity in sacred architecture.
