DESCRIPTION:September 2025 brings with it a celebration of our built heritage. Across Finland and abroad\, the architectural sites along the Alvar Aalto Route will host open doors\, guided tours\, exhibitions\, and family activities as part of the European Heritage Days – the largest cultural event series in Europe. \nThe 2025 theme\, Architectural Heritage\, invites us to reflect on which buildings and environments we wish to preserve for future generations. The sites along the Alvar Aalto Route vividly illustrate how architecture can be part of the landscape\, the community\, and everyday life – a human scale and beauty that touches the heart. \nProgramme highlights \nFrance:\n20-21.9. – Open house at Maison Louis Carré at 11:00-18:00 with guided tour every hour. Online registration will be opened two weeks prior to the event. DESCRIPTION:In 2025\, Rovaniemi is celebrating the Alvar Aalto Jubilee with the theme Arctic Everyday Aalto. The Jubilee will culminate in the Alvar Aalto Week\, which will take place in Rovaniemi on 29 September – 5 October 2025. In the world’s northernmost Alvar Aalto city\, the Arctic is an integral part of everyday life. The Arctic draws its strength from light\, nature and the seasons – just like Alvar Aalto’s architecture and design. \nThe theme of Rovaniemi’s festive year “Arctic Everyday Aalto”\, reflects the thinking of Alvar Aalto: beauty and functionality are not just for celebrations but are present and close to everyday life. \nThe events during Alvar Aalto Week will explore architecture\, design\, and art from a variety of perspectives – including the cultural\, historical\, and societal influences behind them. The program includes guided tours\, lectures and workshops\, concerts\, exhibitions\, discussions\, and community art activities.
